  • 9 pieces lasagna noodles Regular or oven-ready noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef Can be substituted with vegetables for a vegetarian option
  • 1 piece onion, chopped Adds flavor to the meat sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Enhances the overall taste
  • 24 ounces marinara sauce Choose a preferred brand
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese Creamy layer for the lasagna
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning Adds herbs and spices
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a skillet, brown the ground beef, onion, and garlic. Drain excess fat.
  • Stir in marinara sauce and Italian seasoning; simmer for 10 minutes.
  • In a separate bowl, combine ricotta cheese, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, and Parmesan cheese.

Assembling

  • Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in the bottom of the crock pot.
  • Layer 3 lasagna noodles on top, followed by half of the cheese mixture and half of the meat sauce.
  • Repeat layers, finishing with meat sauce on top.

Cooking

  • Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours.
  • Before serving, sprinkle with the remaining mozzarella cheese and let it melt.

Notes

Leftover lasagna can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. For longer storage, freeze it wrapped tightly in plastic wrap and place in a freezer-safe bag for up to 3 months. Feel free to add vegetables like spinach, zucchini, or mushrooms for extra nutrition.
