Ingredients
  

For the asparagus sticks

  • 1 bunch Fresh asparagus spears, trimmed Make sure to trim the woody ends for the best taste.
  • 1/2 cup All-purpose flour Season with a pinch of salt and pepper for extra flavor.
  • 2 large Eggs, beaten Used for dipping the asparagus.
  • 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs Can substitute with whole wheat breadcrumbs for a lighter version.
  • 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan cheese Experiment with different types of cheese for variation.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Set up a breading station: place flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in another, and panko breadcrumbs mixed with grated Parmesan cheese in a third bowl.
  • Dredge each asparagus spear first in flour, then dip in the beaten eggs, and finally coat with the panko and Parmesan mixture.
  • Arrange the coated asparagus sticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Cooking

  • Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden and crispy.

Serving

  • Serve warm as a snack or side dish, optionally with marinara sauce for dipping or alongside a fresh salad.

Notes

To store leftovers, place them in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes to regain crispiness. Can be frozen for up to one month.
