  • 3 tbsp Olive oil You can substitute with avocado oil.
  • 2 tbsp Honey Choose a good quality honey for best flavor.
  • 2 tbsp Balsamic vinegar Aged balsamic adds more depth, but regular works too.
  • 1 tsp Salt Essential for amplifying flavor.
  • 1 tsp Pepper Essential for amplifying flavor.

Optional Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Fresh herbs (like thyme or parsley) Optional for garnish.
  • 1 tsp Crushed red pepper Optional for a spicy kick.
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced Optional for flavor.
  • 1/4 cup Grated Parmesan Optional for a cheesy touch.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Rinse the Brussels sprouts under cold water and remove any outer leaves that appear yellow or wilted. Trim the ends and cut larger sprouts in half.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together olive oil, honey, balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper.
  • Toss the prepared Brussels sprouts in the dressing until well coated.

Cooking

  • Lay the Brussels sprouts cut-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Roast for about 20-25 minutes, or until golden and crispy at the edges. Stir halfway through for extra crispiness.
  • Once done, drizzle more honey and balsamic vinegar over them while hot.

Serving

  • Garnish with fresh herbs and a sprinkle of pepper before serving warm.

Notes

These Brussels sprouts can be served with roasted meats, grilled fish, or as a standalone appetizer. They can also be made ahead of time - prep and season them, but roast just before serving for the best texture.
