Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg, at room temperature
  • 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract

For Serving

  • to taste Powdered sugar, for dusting Dust before serving for extra sweetness.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • In a stand mixer, cream the butter and cream cheese together on medium speed until fluffy.
  • Add the sugar and mix on medium-high speed until pale and airy.
  • Mix in the egg and vanilla until combined.
  • Scrape the bowl with a rubber spatula and mix in the dry ingredients on low speed until just combined.
  • Chill the dough for at least 1 hour.

Baking

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Using a medium cookie scoop, place dough onto the baking sheet.
  • Bake for 10 minutes, until the edges start to turn golden.
  • Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely and dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Make sure your butter and cream cheese are at room temperature to mix smoothly. Chill the dough for at least an hour to help cookies maintain their shape while baking. Don’t overmix after adding the dry ingredients; mix until just combined for softer cookies. For variations, add chocolate chips, nuts, or dried fruits to the dough.
