Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 8 tablespoons butter Room temperature
  • 4 ounces cream cheese Room temperature
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg

Chocolate Additions

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chunks
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cornstarch, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the butter, cream cheese, brown sugar, and sugar until creamy.
  • Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until combined.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chunks and chocolate chips.
  • Drop spoonfuls of the cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet.

Baking

  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Best enjoyed warm. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or freeze for up to three months. Remember to let the cookies cool completely before freezing.
