  • 1.5 cups flour
  • 1 cups sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 5 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cups cold water

Frosting Ingredients

  • 0.5 cups butter for frosting
  • 0.5 cups cocoa for frosting
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla for frosting
  • 5 cups powdered sugar for frosting
  • 0.25 cups milk for frosting

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, and salt.
  • Add vegetable oil, vinegar, vanilla, and cold water into the dry ingredients. Mix well until smooth.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Frosting Preparation

  • While the cake is baking, prepare the frosting by melting the butter in a saucepan over low heat.
  • Stir in cocoa and cook for 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat and add vanilla.
  • Gradually mix in powdered sugar and milk until the frosting is smooth and spreadable.
  • After the cake is cooled, spread the frosting evenly over the top.

Notes

Crazy Cake is best served at room temperature or slightly chilled. It can be stored in an airtight container for 3-5 days at room temperature or up to a week in the refrigerator.
