  • 1 pound ground beef Use lean ground beef for a healthier option.
  • 1/2 cup bell peppers, diced
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded You can experiment with different cheeses.
  • 1 cup buttery Ritz crackers, crushed
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • to taste Salt and pepper Add according to your preference.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, bell peppers, cheddar cheese, crushed Ritz crackers, milk, egg, salt, and pepper.
  • Mix well and shape into a loaf in a baking dish.

Glazing

  • In a small bowl, mix together ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Pour the glaze over the meatloaf.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until the meat is cooked through.
  • Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For serving, pair with buttery mashed potatoes and steamed green beans. You can also add a fresh garden salad for balance. To store, wrap tightly and refrigerate for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
