  • 1 cup crab meat, fresh or canned, well-drained
  • 115 g cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons green onions, finely chopped
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 4 slices sandwich bread
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened for spreading on bread

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Heat a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  2. Mix cream cheese, crab meat, mayonnaise, green onions, garlic powder, soy sauce, lemon juice, and mozzarella until well blended.
  3. Lightly butter one side of each bread slice.
  4. Spread the crab mixture on the unbuttered side of two slices.
  5. Top with the remaining bread slices, buttered side out.
Cooking
  1. Toast sandwiches for 3–4 minutes per side until golden and the cheese melts.
  2. Let rest briefly, then slice diagonally.
  3. Serve hot with sweet chili sauce or a crisp salad.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a splash of hot sauce to the crab mixture. You can use different types of bread for a unique twist. To make it more decadent, sprinkle a little extra mozzarella cheese on the outside before toasting.
