Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 2 inches Fresh ginger root Peeled and sliced
  • 4 cups Hot water Boiled
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh lemon juice Adjust to taste
  • 2 tablespoons Honey Or maple syrup for a vegan option

Optional Ingredients

  • 1 stick Cinnamon sticks
  • 2-3 pieces Cloves
  • Echinacea or turmeric For additional health benefits

Instructions
 

Prepare Ingredients

  • Peel and slice about two inches of fresh ginger root. Gather any additional spices or herbs you would like to use.

Boil Water

  • In a kettle, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil.

Combine Ingredients

  • Add the sliced ginger to the boiled water. If using, add a cinnamon stick and a few cloves as well.
  • Let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes.

Add Sweetness and Acidity

  • Remove from heat and stir in the fresh lemon juice and honey to taste.

Strain and Serve

  • Pour the tea through a fine mesh strainer into your favorite mug.

Garnish

  • For a nice touch, add a slice of lemon or a sprinkle of cinnamon on top before enjoying.

Brew Again

  • For a stronger flavor, feel free to add extra ginger slices or let it brew longer.

Notes

You can prepare this tea in advance and store it in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat when ready to enjoy, adjusting sweetness if necessary.
