  • 6 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tsp onion flakes
  • 1/2 tsp garlic salt
  • 1 1/2 cups barbecue sauce Can be substituted with homemade sauce.
  • 12 oz Coca-Cola Diet Coca-Cola can be used as a substitute.

Preparation
  1. Place the chicken breasts into your slow cooker.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the black pepper, onion flakes, garlic salt, barbecue sauce, and Coca-Cola.
  3. Pour the sauce evenly over the chicken in the slow cooker.
  4. Cover the slow cooker and set it to cook on low for 6 to 8 hours, or opt for high for 3 to 4 hours.
  5. When cooking time is up, shred the chicken with two forks and stir it back into the sauce before serving.

Notes

For added depth of flavor, consider searing the chicken before slow cooking and letting it rest for a few minutes before shredding. This dish can be served over rice, mashed potatoes, in lettuce wraps, or with a fresh salad.
