  • 3 pieces ripe bananas Make sure the bananas are very ripe for the best flavor.
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten Can substitute with a flax egg or applesauce for an egg-free option.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Can substitute some with whole wheat flour for a healthier option.

Baking Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
  • Stir in the melted butter.
  • Mix in the baking soda and salt.
  • Add the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract, and mix well.
  • Finally, stir in the flour until just incorporated.
  • Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan.
  • Bake for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Allow to cool before slicing.

Notes

Best enjoyed slightly warm, served plain or with butter or cream cheese. Store at room temperature in an airtight container for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
