Ingredients

For the Treats
  • 9 cups Kellogg’s Rice Krispie Cereal
  • 9 cups Mini Marshmallows
  • 9 tablespoons Butter (Sweet Cream, Salted)
  • Wilton Color Right Food Coloring – Red, Crimson, Yellow, Blue To create red, green, and white colors
  • Nonpareils Christmas Sprinkles Optional

Method

Preparation
  1. Melt 3 tablespoons of butter in a medium pan over low heat. Once melted, add 3 cups of mini marshmallows and stir continuously until completely melted and smooth.
  2. Remove the pan from heat and stir in the desired food coloring to create the first festive color (e.g., red). Mix thoroughly to evenly distribute the color.
  3. Add 3 cups of Rice Krispie cereal to the marshmallow mixture. Stir gently but thoroughly until all cereal pieces are fully coated with the marshmallow mixture.
  4. Mix in Christmas-themed nonpareils sprinkles for added festive flair.
  5. Allow the mixture to cool slightly so it is easier to handle. Measure approximately 0.6 oz of the mixture and roll it into a small ball using hands slightly greased or damp to prevent sticking.
  6. Repeat steps 1 through 5 for the other two colors (green and white) using the same quantities.
  7. Allow all Rice Krispie Treat Bites to cool completely at room temperature to firm up before serving or storing.

Notes

To keep your Christmas Rice Krispie Treat Bites fresh, store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. If you need to store them longer, they can be frozen; just make sure to separate the layers with parchment paper and place them in a freezer-safe bag. To enjoy them again, thaw them at room temperature—there's no need to reheat these delicious bites!
