  • 8 cups rice chex mix cereal
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips Use high-quality for richer flavor
  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • cups confectioners sugar Key for signature sweetness
  • 1 cup mini pretzels
  • 1 cup red and green M&Ms Add after cooling to prevent melting

Preparation
  1. In a medium microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter. Microwave on high for 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until melted and smooth.
  2. In a large bowl, add the rice chex mix. Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the cereal and stir to coat.
  3. Add the pretzels and stir to combine.
  4. Place the confectioners sugar in a large resealable bag. Add the coated cereal mixture and shake until well-coated.
  5. Spread the mixture on a baking sheet to cool. Once it’s cooled, mix in the M&Ms before serving.

Notes

Christmas Puppy Chow is versatile; serve in a festive bowl, package in bags for gifting, or alongside a hot drink. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze for a month. Let thaw completely before serving.
