Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
- Fold in sprinkles or chocolate chips.
- Drop tablespoons of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Baking
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Let them cool on the baking sheet for a couple of minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
These cookies can be served on their own or with a glass of milk or hot cocoa. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or refrigerate for longer freshness. For long-term storage, freeze the cookies in a single layer and transfer to a freezer-safe bag.
