  • 1 teaspoon baking soda Leavening agent.

  • 1 cup chocolate chips Feel free to swap with nuts or different chocolate types.

Method
 

Baking Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until the mixture is smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Mix until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips, ensuring they’re evenly distributed.
  7. Using a tablespoon, drop mounds of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them a couple of inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cookies are set and have that signature crackled top.
  9. Allow them to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Serve warm with cold milk or vanilla ice cream. Store in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze for three months.
