Preparation
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan and set aside.
- In a large bowl, beat together the butter and cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
- Add the granulated sugar and brown sugar, and beat until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips evenly.
- Spread the dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.
Baking
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the edges are golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool completely in the pan before cutting into bars.
Notes
For best results, do not overmix the batter. These bars can be served warm with vanilla ice cream or cooled with a drizzle of melted chocolate. Store in an airtight container for up to three days at room temperature or a week in the fridge.
