  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, beat the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing in the vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts (if using).
  • Using a scoop or spoon, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared sheets, ensuring 2 inches of space between each.

Baking

  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are soft.
  • Cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, ensure butter is at room temperature and do not overmix your dough. Chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking for thicker cookies.
