Ingredients
  

For the Pie
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure it's softened, not melted.
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs Add one at a time.
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips Feel free to substitute with dark or white chocolate.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch pie dish with butter or cooking spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until the mixture is smooth and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, ensuring they are fully incorporated. Then, stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the buttery mixture, mixing until just combined. Avoid overmixing!
  5. Carefully fold in the chocolate chips, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  6. Transfer the dough into the prepared pie dish, pressing it evenly across the bottom and up the sides.
Baking
  1. Bake in your preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. A toothpick inserted into the center should come out clean or with just a few moist crumbs attached.
  2. Allow the pie to cool completely before slicing it into generous pieces for serving!

Notes

This pie is best enjoyed warm with vanilla ice cream, chocolate or caramel sauce, or fresh whipped cream. Store leftovers at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
