Ingredients
  

For the cookie dough filling
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips Regular chocolate chips can be used as a substitute.
For the pastry
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed Ensure the pastry is thawed before use.
  • 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)
For dusting
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour, divided For rolling out the pastry.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together 1/2 cup of flour, softened butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, milk, vanilla extract, and salt until it’s well combined.
  3. Fold in the mini chocolate chips.
  4. Lightly dust a clean surface with the remaining 1/2 cup of flour, then roll out the puff pastry into a rectangle.
  5. Spread the cookie dough filling evenly over the puff pastry.
Cutting and Twisting
  1. Use a knife or pizza cutter to cut the dough into strips, about 1 inch wide.
  2. Twist each strip several times and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. Brush the twists with the beaten egg.
Baking
  1. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and beautifully golden brown.
  2. Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, drizzle with chocolate sauce, or dust with powdered sugar. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to two days or freeze for up to a month.
