  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 stick salted butter softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/4 cups mashed bananas very ripe
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips

Chocolate Topping

  • 1/3 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons whole milk
  • 3 tablespoons powdered sugar

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, cream the salted butter with the sugars until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the mashed bananas, sour cream, and vanilla.
  • Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Fold in the milk chocolate chips.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.

Baking

  • Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Topping

  • For the topping, melt the additional chocolate chips with whole milk, then stir in powdered sugar until smooth.
  • Once the bread has cooled, drizzle the chocolate topping over the loaf.

Notes
