Ingredients
  

For the Chicken

  • 1 pound chicken thighs or breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons ground paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 4 pieces pita bread
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (lettuce, tomato, cucumber)

For the Creamy Garlic Sauce

  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 juice of lemon
  • to taste Salt

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Marinate the chicken with olive oil, cumin, paprika, turmeric, cinnamon, minced garlic, salt, and pepper for at least 1 hour.
  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) or prepare the grill.

Cooking

  • Roast or grill the chicken until fully cooked, about 20-25 minutes.
  • While the chicken is cooking, mix the ingredients for the creamy garlic sauce in a bowl until smooth.
  • After the chicken is done, slice it into strips.

Serving

  • Serve the sliced chicken in pita bread topped with mixed vegetables and drizzled with the garlic sauce.

Notes

For a complete meal, serve with roasted potatoes or a fresh Greek salad. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
