Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 whole whole chicken (bone-in)
  • 8 cups chicken broth Use high-quality broth for best flavor.
  • 2 cups egg noodles Can customize noodle choice.

Vegetables

  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 2 celery stalks, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Sauté for richer flavor.

Seasoning and Garnish

  • to taste salt and pepper
  • fresh parsley for garnish

Preparation

  • In a large pot, add the whole chicken and cover with chicken broth. Bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat and let it simmer for about 30-40 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
  • Remove the chicken from the pot and let it cool. Once cooled, shred the chicken, discarding the bones and skin.

Cooking

  • In the same pot, add the carrots, celery, onion, and garlic. Cook until vegetables are tender, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Add the egg noodles and shredded chicken back into the pot. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Continue to simmer until the noodles are cooked, about 6-8 minutes.
  • Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

Serve with crusty bread or a fresh side salad. Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months. Reheat with a splash of water or broth to prevent thickness.
