Ingredients
  

For the cookie dough

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto baking sheets lined with parchment paper.

Baking

  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are golden brown.
  • Let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

These cookies are best enjoyed fresh out of the oven. For extra flavor, consider adding a pinch of cinnamon to the flour mixture. Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week, or freeze for up to three months.
