Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Use room temperature butter for better mixing.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed Can replace with granulated sugar, but cookies may not be as chewy.
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs

Chocolate

  • 2 cups chocolate chips You can use dark chocolate, milk chocolate, or white chocolate chips.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, mix the flour and baking soda together. Set it aside.
  • In another large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until smooth.
  • Add the vanilla extract and eggs to the butter mixture. Beat until fully combined.
  • Gradually mix in the flour mixture until just combined.
  • Stir in the chocolate chips.

Baking

  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Best served warm. Pair with a glass of cold milk or use in an ice cream sandwich. For extra chewiness, slightly underbake the cookies. You can chill the dough for a couple of hours to enhance flavors.
