Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened) Make sure it is at room temperature.
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Mix-ins

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips Feel free to substitute with other types of chocolate.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the softened butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time and mix in vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Gradually fold in the dry ingredients until just combined; avoid overmixing.
  • Gently stir in the chocolate chips.
  • Drop spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets about two inches apart.

Baking

  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden around the edges but still soft in the center.
  • Cool slightly before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week. To freeze, place them in a freezer-safe bag for up to three months. Adjust baking time to your oven; for softer cookies, take them out a minute earlier.
