Ingredients
  

Salad Base

  • 2 cups mixed lettuce Any variety of lettuce can be used.
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved Use ripe tomatoes for best flavor.
  • 1 medium cucumber, sliced Peel if desired.
  • 1 medium bell pepper, chopped Any color bell pepper can be used.

Protein and Cheese

  • 1 cup deli meats (ham, turkey, or chicken), chopped Feel free to substitute with grilled chicken, chickpeas, or tofu.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Swiss) Use your preferred cheese variety.
  • 2 large hard-boiled eggs, sliced Optional.
  • 1/4 cup red onion, sliced Adjust to taste.

Dressing and Seasonings

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil Use extra virgin olive oil for better flavor.
  • to taste salt and pepper Season to preference.
  • as needed Your choice of salad dressing Add based on personal preference.

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine the mixed lettuce, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, and bell pepper.
  • Add the chopped deli meats and shredded cheese.
  • Gently toss the salad to mix the ingredients.
  • Top with sliced hard-boiled eggs and red onion.
  • Drizzle with olive oil and your choice of dressing.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Chef Salad is versatile and can be served with garlic bread or soup. It can be prepared in advance; just keep the dressing separate until serving to maintain freshness.
