  • 3 tablespoons Butter For sautéing garlic and flavor.
  • 1 cup Grated cheese Combination of sharp cheddar and mozzarella recommended.
  • to taste Salt and pepper To season.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by washing your green beans thoroughly. Trim the ends and cut them to about 2-3 inches.
  • Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and blanch the green beans for 2-3 minutes until bright green but still crisp. Drain and immerse in an ice bath.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
  • Add the blanched green beans to the skillet, tossing them in the garlicky butter. Sauté for an additional 3-4 minutes.
  • Lower the heat and sprinkle the grated cheese over the beans. Allow it to melt slightly, or broil for a golden crust.
  • Season with salt, pepper, and any additional spices or herbs. Toss to combine before serving hot.

Notes

For a zesty note, add a dash of lemon juice at the end. Avoid overcooking the beans to retain their crunch.
