Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Rinse and trim the Brussels sprouts, cutting them in half from top to bottom.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until it’s crisp and golden brown.
  • Remove the bacon from the skillet, leaving the drippings behind.
  • Add the halved Brussels sprouts, cut side down, and sauté for about 5 minutes until they develop a golden hue.
  • Add crumbled bacon back to the skillet, drizzle with olive oil or melted butter, and balsamic vinegar. Stir gently.
  • Transfer mixture to a baking sheet, spread the Brussels sprouts evenly, and roast for about 20-25 minutes, stirring halfway.
  • Taste and season with salt and pepper. Add herbs or toasted nuts if desired.

Notes

For best results, sauté the Brussels sprouts first for extra flavor. Ensure they are not overcrowded on the baking sheet for even roasting.
