- In a 9x13 inch dish, create a layer by spreading a thin layer of cream cheese mixture, then add a layer of vanilla wafers.
- Sprinkle diced apples evenly over the wafers.
- Drizzle a generous layer of caramel sundae topping over the apples.
- Repeat layering using remaining cream cheese mixture, vanilla wafers, apples, and caramel topping.
- Finish with the remaining whipped topping spread evenly on top.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow flavors to meld and cookies to soften.
- Before serving, drizzle additional caramel topping on top for garnish if desired.
