Ingredients
  

Cheesecake Layer
  • 1 package 8 oz cream cheese, softened Make sure to soften properly for a smooth texture.
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 container 8 oz frozen whipped topping, thawed Fold half into the cream cheese mixture.
Fruit and Topping
  • 2 cups diced apples (about 2 medium apples) Use a mix of apples for varied flavor.
  • 1 package 15.25 oz caramel sundae topping Drizzle over layers.
  • 1 package 14.4 oz vanilla wafer cookies These form the base layers.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, beat softened cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth and creamy.
  2. Fold in half of the whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture until well combined.
  3. In a 9x13 inch dish, create a layer by spreading a thin layer of cream cheese mixture, then add a layer of vanilla wafers.
  4. Sprinkle diced apples evenly over the wafers.
  5. Drizzle a generous layer of caramel sundae topping over the apples.
  6. Repeat layering using remaining cream cheese mixture, vanilla wafers, apples, and caramel topping.
  7. Finish with the remaining whipped topping spread evenly on top.
  8. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow flavors to meld and cookies to soften.
  9. Before serving, drizzle additional caramel topping on top for garnish if desired.

Notes

This dessert can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. It's best enjoyed cold. For additional flavor, consider adding spices or substituting fruits.
