For the apple filling

  • 6 cups Apples (peeled & sliced) Use Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or a mix.
  • 0.5 cups Brown Sugar For mixing with apples.
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon For flavoring.
  • 0.25 tsp Nutmeg For warmth.
  • 0.25 tsp Salt To balance sweetness.
  • 1 cups Caramel Sauce Store-bought for convenience or homemade.

For the crisp topping

  • 1 cups Oats Old-fashioned oats for the perfect chewiness.
  • 0.5 cups All-Purpose Flour Used for binding.
  • 0.5 cups Unsalted Butter (melted) To enrich the crisp topping.
  • 0.5 cups Brown Sugar The remaining for the topping.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples with half a cup of brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Let it sit for about 10 minutes.
  • Pour the apple mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Drizzle half a cup of caramel sauce over the apples.

Making the Crisp Topping

  • In another bowl, combine oats, flour, the remaining brown sugar, and melted butter. Mix until crumbly. You can add nuts for extra crunch.

Baking

  • Spread the oat topping evenly over the apple mixture.
  • Bake for about 35-40 minutes until golden brown and bubbling.
  • Remove from the oven and drizzle with the remaining caramel sauce while warm.
  • Let it cool slightly before serving to enhance flavor.

Notes

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or Greek yogurt for a delightful treat. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to three days, or frozen for up to three months.
