Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and cut it into tree shapes or small circles.
- Place the pastry shapes on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
- Lightly beat the egg and brush it over the pastry for a golden finish.
- In a bowl, mix the thinly sliced apples with lemon juice, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
Assembly
- Layer the apple slices and brie cheese on top of the pastry shapes.
- Drizzle some caramel over the top if desired.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the pastry is golden and puffed.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Serve on a festive platter with a light arugula salad and cranberry sauce. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. To reheat, bake at 350°F (175°C) until warmed through. Tartlets can be made in advance and frozen before baking.
