For the Calzone Filling

  • 1 batch Pizza dough Can use homemade or store-bought
  • 1 cup Ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese Shredded
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese Grated
  • 1 cup Pepperoni or other preferred fillings Can customize with any favorite fillings
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil For brushing
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning For seasoning
  • 1 cup Marinara sauce For dipping

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
  • Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface.
  • Spread ricotta cheese on one half of the dough, then layer mozzarella, Parmesan, and your choice of fillings.
  • Season with Italian seasoning.
  • Fold the dough over to cover the filling and seal the edges.
  • Brush with olive oil.
  • Place on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.

Serving

  • Cut the calzone into slices, and serve it warm with marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
  • Optional: Add a simple salad or some garlic bread for a complete meal.

Notes

To store leftover calzone, let it cool first, then wrap it tightly. It's best consumed within 3 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) until heated through.
