Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients while stirring to combine.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.

Baking

  • Bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Allow the bars to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Slice into squares and serve.

Notes

Sprinkle some flaky sea salt on top before serving for a contrasting flavor. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to five days.
