Preparation

  • Peel and cut the Yukon gold potatoes into chunks.
  • Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender.
  • Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
  • Add butter, buttermilk, sour cream, salt, and pepper to the potatoes.
  • Mash the mixture until creamy and smooth.
  • Adjust seasoning if needed, and serve warm.

Notes

To store leftovers, transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate for up to three days. Add a splash of milk or buttermilk when reheating to restore creaminess. Freezes well for up to a month.
