- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking powder.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them spaced apart on the prepared baking sheet. Flatten each ball slightly with the palm of your hand or a fork.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
