Ingredients
  

For the Sauce

  • 0.25 cup Soy Sauce (low-sodium) Forms the backbone of flavor.
  • 0.25 cup Oyster Sauce (or mushroom sauce for vegetarian) Adds richness and depth.
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch Thickening agent; can substitute with arrowroot powder.
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar Use brown sugar for deeper flavor.
  • 1 cup Chicken or Vegetable Broth Adds additional flavor; use vegetable broth for vegetarian option.
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Oil For a nutty aroma.
  • to taste Garlic (freshly minced or powdered) For aromatic lift.
  • to taste Ginger (freshly minced or ground) For added flavor.

For Cooking

  • 1 cup Protein of choice (chicken, beef, tofu) Any preferred protein can be used.
  • 2 cups Vegetables of choice (bell peppers, snap peas, broccoli) Choose vibrant vegetables for color.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, sugar, and broth. Add minced garlic and ginger to taste.

Cooking

  • Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add sesame oil.
  • Add your choice of protein and vegetables and sauté until cooked and vibrant.
  • Pour the prepared sauce over the protein and vegetables. Stir well and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning with more sugar or soy sauce if needed.
  • Serve over rice, noodles, or in lettuce wraps, garnished with sesame seeds or sliced green onions.

Notes

Ensure to preheat the skillet to achieve a good sear on proteins. Avoid overcrowding the pan to ensure even cooking. Adjust heat to prevent burning the sauce.
