  • 1 cup unsalted butter Melted to brown
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat until it foams and turns golden brown, then remove from heat.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the brown butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar, and mix until smooth.
  • Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Baking

  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  • Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

These cookies are best served warm. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze for up to three months.
