For the Bacon Bombs
  • 1 pound thick-cut bacon Use thick-cut bacon for best texture and taste.
  • 1/2 cup bourbon For extra flavor, try using a flavored bourbon.
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup You can substitute for a lower-sugar version if desired.
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce Adjust based on your spice preference.
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper Can be adjusted for milder or spicier flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Toothpicks For securing the rolled bacon.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Cut the bacon slices in half and lay them out on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. In a small saucepan, combine the bourbon, maple syrup, brown sugar, hot sauce, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper.
  4. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until it thickens to a syrup-like consistency.
  5. Brush the bacon slices with the bourbon maple glaze.
  6. Roll them up tightly and secure each roll with a toothpick.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature. Great on their own or with dipping sauces like ranch or BBQ. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
