  • 1 can refrigerated biscuits
  • 1 pound breakfast sausage
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (optional) Cheddar or pepper jack can be used.
  • 2 large eggs

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the breakfast sausage over medium heat until browned.
  3. Stir in flour, salt, and pepper, cooking for another minute.
  4. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly until thickened.
Assembly
  1. In a greased casserole dish, layer the biscuits, followed by the sausage mixture, and pour the egg mixture over.
Cooking
  1. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown.
  2. Top with cheese if desired and bake until melted.

Notes

Can be enjoyed on its own or paired with fresh fruit salad. For a complete meal, serve alongside sautéed greens or roasted vegetables. A drizzle of hot sauce can add a kick.
