Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • ½ cup salted butter (1 stick) Melted for soaking the biscuits.
  • cups Bisquick or a similar all-purpose baking mix
  • 1 cup 7-Up or a similar lemon-lime soda Adds lightness and fluffiness.
  • 1 cup sour cream Do not use light.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 425℉.
  • Put the butter in a 9x13-inch baking dish and place the dish in the oven until the butter is melted. Remove from the oven.
  • In a large bowl, stir together the Bisquick, 7-Up, and sour cream. The dough will be sticky.
  • Turn the dough onto a floured work surface. You may need to sprinkle a little more baking mix into the dough if it feels too sticky.
  • Roll or pat the dough into a 1-inch thick circle. Cut circles out using a round cutter or any small round object.
  • Place the biscuits in the pan of melted butter.

Baking

  • Bake until the biscuits are golden brown, about 10 to 12 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and let the biscuits sit and soak in all the melted butter.

Notes

Serve warm right out of the oven with honey, jam, or gravy. Can be paired with fried chicken, soup, or a salad. To store leftovers, let them cool completely and store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, or freeze for up to a month.
