Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • ½ cup ½ cup salted butter Use 1 stick of butter
  • cups 4½ cups Bisquick (or similar baking mix)
  • 1 cup 1 cup 7-Up (or similar lemon-lime soda) Any lemon-lime soda works well
  • 1 cup 1 cup sour cream Do not use light sour cream

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 425℉.
  • Put the butter in a 9x13-inch baking dish and place the dish in the oven until the butter is melted. Remove from the oven.
  • In a large bowl, stir together the Bisquick, 7-Up, and sour cream. The dough will be sticky.

Baking

  • Turn the dough onto a floured work surface. If it's too sticky, sprinkle a little more baking mix into the dough.
  • Roll or pat the dough into a 1-inch thick circle. Cut out circles using a round cutter, a small plastic bowl, or a glass.
  • Place the biscuits in the pan of melted butter.
  • Bake until golden brown, about 10 to 12 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and let the biscuits sit to soak up the melted butter.

Notes

Billion Dollar Buttery Biscuits are best enjoyed warm right out of the oven. They pair well with gravy, soups, or just a pat of butter and your favorite jam. Store leftover biscuits in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze them tightly for longer storage. Tips: Use full-fat sour cream for best results, keep the dough floured to facilitate cutting, and mix just until combined to maintain fluffiness.
