Ingredients
  

For the dip base

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2/3 cup beer
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Heat butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the flour and whisk until combined and cooked through, about 1 minute.
  • Slowly add the milk, beer, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper, whisking until everything is well mixed.
  • Stirring constantly, cook until the mixture has thickened slightly, about 3-5 minutes.
  • Add the cheese and whisk until smooth.
  • Taste for seasoning and serve warm.

Notes

Pairs wonderfully with soft pretzels or tortilla chips. Can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 2 months.
