- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, BBQ sauce, ketchup, diced onion, diced green pepper, egg, salt, and pepper.
- Mix until everything is well combined.
- Shape the meat mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish.
- Lay the bacon slices on top of the meatloaf, tucking the ends underneath.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 45-50 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
For best results, let the meatloaf rest before slicing to ensure juices redistribute. Experiment with spices or add cheese for variations.
