  • 1 lb ground beef Can substitute with ground turkey or meat alternative.
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce Can substitute with marinara or homemade sauce.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Other cheeses can be used for variation.
  • 1 cup cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 1/2 cup diced pickles Optional
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup mustard
  • 9 pieces lasagna noodles Cook according to package directions.
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until nicely browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add the diced onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onions become translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Stir in the BBQ sauce, ketchup, and mustard. Allow the mixture to simmer for a few minutes, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  5. Meanwhile, bring a pot of water to a boil. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package directions, then drain and set aside.
Assembly and Baking
  1. In a 9x13 inch baking dish, layer the cooked noodles, meat mixture, shredded cheese, crumbled bacon, and diced pickles.
  2. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, ensuring the final layer is topped with cheese.
  3. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  4. Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  5. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Garnish with fresh parsley or chives. Pairs well with a simple salad or garlic bread. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days, and can be frozen for up to 2 months.
