Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  • In a large bowl, mash the bananas. Add melted butter and mix until combined.
  • Stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the banana mixture and stir until just combined.
  • Fold in the chopped walnuts. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  • Bake for 50-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Enjoy banana bread plain, spread with butter, or topped with cream cheese. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 2-3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
