Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 shots Espresso
  • 1 cup Milk (any kind)
  • 1/3 cup Mashed Banana (very ripe) Use overripe banana for optimal sweetness.
  • 1 tablespoon Brown Sugar Adjust quantity to taste.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon Feel free to sprinkle more on top.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • A pinch Nutmeg
  • Caramelized Banana Slices (optional, for topping)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Brew two shots of espresso or prepare a strong cup of coffee.
  • Warm your milk in a saucepan over medium heat.
  • In a blender, combine the mashed banana, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and nutmeg with half of the warm milk. Blend until smooth.
  • Pour the blended banana mixture into a small saucepan and heat gently until hot but not boiling.
  • Pour the hot espresso into your mug. Add the warm banana mixture and stir well.
  • Froth the remaining milk and spoon it over the latte for a foamy top.
  • Top with caramelized banana slices and a sprinkle of cinnamon if desired.

Notes

Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 2 days. Gently reheat on the stove or in the microwave without boiling. For longer storage, freeze the banana mixture (without espresso) and blend with fresh espresso when ready to enjoy.
