  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 large ripe bananas, mashed Use very ripe bananas for the best flavor.
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 0.5 cups butter, softened
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 0.75 tsp salt
  • 0.5 cups chopped walnuts (optional) Adds a nice crunch.

Frosting Ingredients

  • 0.5 cups butter For frosting
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1.5 tsp vanilla extract For frosting
  • 3 tbsp milk Add gradually until smooth.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 13×9-inch baking pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat together the sugar, sour cream, butter, and eggs until creamy.
  • Stir in the mashed bananas and vanilla extract.
  • Add the flour, baking soda, and salt. Blend until just combined.
  • If you like, fold in the walnuts.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it out evenly.
  • Bake for 25 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Allow them to cool slightly—warm but not hot—before adding frosting.

Frosting

  • In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat until it turns a medium golden brown (about 5–7 minutes).
  • Remove from heat and whisk in the powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk, adding the milk gradually until smooth.
  • Pour the frosting over the warm brownies and smooth it with a spatula.
  • Let the brownies cool completely before cutting into squares. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

Serve with ice cream or whipped cream for a delicious treat. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days or refrigerate for about a week.
