  • 3 pieces ripe bananas, mashed Use fully ripe bananas for best flavor.
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 4x8 inch loaf pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
  • Mix in the melted butter with the mashed bananas.
  • Stir in the baking soda and salt.
  • Add the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract, and mix well.
  • Finally, stir in the flour until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.

Baking

  • Bake for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let the bread cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Serve warm, at room temperature, or chilled. Pairs well with butter or honey. Can be customized with nuts or chocolate chips.
