  • 4 slices slices of crusty sourdough or baguette, toasted Use your favorite type of crusty bread.
  • 1 ball fresh burrata cheese (about 8 oz) Alternatively, you can use fresh mozzarella or ricotta cheese.

Toppings

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced Use ripe strawberries for maximum sweetness.
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze Drizzle just before serving for freshness.
  • 1 teaspoon honey (optional) Adds extra sweetness, if desired.
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish Torn basil leaves add flavor.
  • Cracked black pepper, to taste Enhances the flavor of the toasts.

Preparation

  • Toast the bread slices until golden and crisp.
  • Spread or tear the burrata evenly over each toast.
  • Top with sliced strawberries.
  • Drizzle with balsamic glaze and honey (if using).
  • Garnish with torn basil leaves and a sprinkle of cracked black pepper.
  • Serve immediately as a refreshing summer appetizer or light brunch.

Notes

Best served fresh. Store components separately and reassemble before eating. Avoid adding balsamic glaze and basil until ready to serve. For variations, consider adding prosciutto, walnuts, or arugula.
