  • 3 pieces ripe but firm pears, halved and cored Choose pears that are ripe but still firm for the best texture.
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or melted butter
  • 4 oz brie cheese, cut into small cubes Can substitute with other cheeses like camembert or goat cheese.
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts Feel free to substitute with chopped pecans or almonds.
  • 2 tbsp dried cranberries
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup A flavored honey can add a unique twist.
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • optional fresh thyme or rosemary sprigs Use for garnish.

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking dish with parchment paper.
  • Brush the pear halves with olive oil or butter and arrange them cut-side up in the dish.
  • Sprinkle with cinnamon and bake for 15 minutes, until slightly softened.

Filling and Baking

  • Remove from the oven and fill the center of each pear with brie, walnuts, and cranberries.
  • Drizzle with honey and return to the oven for 5–7 minutes, until the brie is melted and bubbly.
  • Garnish with thyme or rosemary and serve warm.

Notes

These baked pears can be served on their own, paired with a salad, or as part of a charcuterie board. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat gently in the oven.
